Your hosts at the Laurena with heart, brains, and a sense of humour
The Laurena in Natz-Schabs used to be called “Waldheim” – founded by Michael’s parents Gottfried and Elisabeth and lovingly run by them for many years. Now, Claudia and Michael have taken the helm, giving their shared project a new name and transforming it into a family-run aparthotel.

Together, the two Laurena hosts are unbeatable (unless you catch them before their first cup of coffee). And that’s no surprise: Michael grew up here, and Claudia comes from the nearby Sylvanerhof. He’s a trained chef, ski instructor, and breakfast whizz. She manages the apartments at Sylvanerhof, loves working in service, and is also a winegrower with her own vineyard. (Speaking of wine: Sylvanerhof’s Kerner white wine is the secret favourite in the trust shop.)
In the morning, Michael mans the pots and pans in the kitchen, while Claudia takes fantastic care of service. Both can also be found at the reception – where they share information, tips, and a friendly word.
Michael’s mum is our gardening pro. She makes sure that everything around the hotel is green and blooming, and also lends a hand where needed. Grandpa? He may not have an official job title, but he’s always ready to jump in and help.
They’re young and lively: the two junior managers. They don’t quite have a head for business yet, but they’re responsible for spreading cheer, causing chaos in the garden, and watching the grown-ups with great interest. Fun fact: The name “Laurena” is a combination of their first names.
